Tricky Walsh studied architecture, briefly, which is possibly the problem. She has consequently developed a love of things flat (drawing, painting and at a stretch; film) as well as things solid (sculpture, installation and in a weird way; sound)
Like all struggles between seemingly oppositional forces (good/bad, light/dark etc) she is forced on occasion to dedicate her time more exclusively with one, or the other. At the moment she is trying to merge the two, and is interested in the tensions that develop in that both/between place. Her fingers are crossed (which makes hammers and pens something of a struggle) that once the dust clears there will be something still standing, but she's not picking sides.
