Our work Residency from Italy 2011

Giordano Residency

The Alcorso Foundation was pleased to partner with Birds Tasmania in hosting acclaimed Italian environmentalist Dr. Anna Giordano for a six-week residency in Tasmania.

Acclaimed Italian Environmentalist Dr. Anna Giordano undertook a six-week residency visiting conservation and environmental groups, local schools and government departments across all regions of Tasmania during the months of February and March 2011.

Dr Anna Giordano’s Tasmania residency was a partner project between the Alcorso Foundation and Birds Tasmania. The community engagement provided opportunity for the exchange of knowledge, skills and expertise where relationships and dialogues were formed that may continue in the future and potentially lead to further collaborative initiatives.

Chairman of Birds Tasmania, Dr Eric Woehler, described Dr Giordano’s visit as a “once in a lifetime opportunity”.
