Our work Recipients to Italy 2003

This award supports Tasmanian based artists practicing across all art forms for a self-directed residency in Italy. The award aims to promote artistic and professional development.

The Alcorso Foundation’s first cultural exchange to Italy was awarded to poet and developing novelist Anthony Lawrence so that he could research and write his second novel set in both Italy and Australia.

Anthony spent three months in Lecce in southern Italy.

Anthony reported an extremely productive time in Italy and was able to create a solid base of work from which to produce his second novel.

He was able to write over 50 000 words for his novel and solidify ideas for a third.

No doubt we will all enjoy a brilliant second novel by this incredibly talented man.
