Our work Recipients to Italy 2005

This award supports Tasmanian based artists practicing across all art forms for a self-directed residency in Italy. The award aims to promote artistic and professional development.

Nic travelled to Umbria Italy in May 2005 for study with a master printmaker, learning new skills and techniques to complement his already nationally acclaimed style.

He followed this period of intensive learning with two months working in a specially set up print studio in Palermo.

Nic’s inspiration comes from his personal experience of migration and establishing a new life.

Since completing art school in 1999 he has set up and worked at the Tapir Print Workshop in Cygnet Tasmania.

Nic’s residency in Italy has given him the opportunity to expand his technical experience and give him a level of professional development not available in Tasmania.
